There's usually guilds and communities dedicated to it, and people use addons such as TRP to write profiles and so on to supplement the experience. On EU the only "real" RP server left is Argent Dawn, the rest are either dead or are RP realms only in name. It's majority Alliance but plenty of Horde stuff too. Go for Silvermoon/Ravencrest. Basically having the most people on your faction on the server is the most important. Advantages are that you get more guilds, more people in cities and trade chat, and a healthy economy (though that is not faction-specific). Good servers: WOTLK expansion - just a few servers (search threads on this, Gamer District, Lordaeron) Vanilla: Light's Hope or Kronos. TBC: Netherwing. MOP: Tauri, Evermoon. I just gave you 6 very good servers. Pick the expansion you want. I recommend WOTLK or MOP servers. A lot of the oceanic severs are linked like that so most options would be good! It's been tilting more to horde pretty strongly since BFA and warmode after being nearly perfectly 50/50 during WoD and much of Legion but it's still far better then the other rp servers. It IS however a former Rp-PvP server which means it's roleplay community is not quite what others will be.Khaz'goroth has people on it but the chances of finding anyone to do Mythic raiding with on either faction are absolutely non-existent.
